He was probably most famous as the Martini-swilling private eye, Nick Charles, with Myrna Loy as Nora Charles in the Thin Man series. Their chemistry was magical and the dialogue is perfect. They go together like gin and vermouth. Also My Man Godfrey, a 1936 classic with Carole Lombard.
